Intense has developed partnerships with a number of organizations that extend its laser based product offerings through access to specialized technologies and manufacturing facilities.


Cornes Dodwell

Cornes Dodwell is a leading importer and distributor of industrial machinery and electronics, representing companies from around the world and promoting, marketing and selling products and technologies from overseas to customers in Japan. The company is a supplier of production machinery, packaging systems, inspection equipment and screens for use in the brewery, beverage and food industries. It is also a distributor of semiconductors and RF components, measuring instruments, avionics and security equipment to a wide range of electronics companies and government/public organizations. Cornes Dodwell is headquartered in Tokyo with offices in Osaka and other major regions of Japan, employing a total of more than 220 highly qualified and motivated staff with unrivalled knowledge and experience of the Japanese market.



IQE

Intense has a strategic partnership with the III-V wafer specialist IQE, the world's largest outsource supplier of III-V epiwafers. IQE offers a diverse range of materials produced using the MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapour Deposition) and MBE (Molecular Beam Epitaxy) crystal growth platforms. IQE's European manufacturing facility and international HQ are based in Cardiff UK, a few hundred miles from Intense's site in Glasgow. The partnership involves IQE growing complex compound semiconductor crystal structures to Intense's design. Wafer growth is a critical element in Intense's supply chain, and the alliance allows Intense to achieve economies of scale through accessing the largest independent manufacturing capacity worldwide. IQE supplies Intense with both gallium arsenide (GaAs) and indium phosphide (InP) based epitaxy structures.

TTP

TTP is one of Europe's leading independent technology development and licensing companies. TTP has its own extensive laboratory and pre-production manufacturing facilities employing engineers, scientists, and business development specialists in its facilities located near Cambridge, UK. TTP has extensive experience in product design, development and engineering, including printing and coding and marking systems. Intense collaborates with TTP to market, develop, and commercialize products that make novel use of semiconductor lasers.

Research Collaboration

Intense licenses some of its patents from the University of Glasgow with whom it has a close collaboration. Intense participates in research with leading universities, including Cambridge, UCL, Imperial College, Strathclyde, Sheffield, Oxford, York, TU Berlin, TU Denmark through mechanisms including CASE studentships, DTI, and EU programs.
