Hermes
The Hermes family of High Power Laser (HPL) diodes is designed for use in a wide range of industrial, medical, defense, and aerospace applications. These include:
- Next generation CtP machines across the performance spectrum, from low-cost systems processing small format plates (2up) to the latest large plate format machines
- Coding and marking systems (in conjunction with applied sensitive chemistry), for primary and secondary packaging and label printing applications

Features of the Hermes Family
Intense's advanced Quantum Well Intermixing (QWI) process delivers high reliability, superior brightness, and enhanced power levels. The Hermes family is available at multiple wavelengths, including 808, 940, 980, and 1550nm to suit the application. Single emitters, conductively cooled packages, and micro channel cooled packages are available as standard. Additionally, custom packages can be developed, enabling system developers to tailor solutions to their unique requirements. Hermes lasers operate reliably in both continuous wave (CW) and quasi-continuous wave (QCW) modes.
The enhanced operating lifetimes of Hermes high power lasers reduce cost of ownership for customers utilizing this technology. High brightness, improved beam quality, and excellent electrical-to-light conversion efficiency optimize the use of wallplug energy. Additionally, the reduced waste heat created during operation decreases the demands on systems to remove unwanted heat.
